The Scribewise ethos has always been to focus on doing great work to help our clients succeed, secure in the belief that if we do that everything else will take care of itself. So, we’ve never really chased awards (honestly, our homes are already plenty cluttered).
On the other hand, our team does great work and they deserve to be recognized for it. So we submitted a few of our work samples for this year’s MarCom Awards and—guess what?—the universe (and, more importantly, the judges) agrees that we do great work. We’re excited to announce that Scribewise has won three MarCom Awards, highlighted by a Platinum Award for the Annual Report we created for our client, TransCelerate. We also won Gold for our Story Stream on generative engine optimization, and for my book, Playing It Safe Sucks.
The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) received thousands of entries from 43 countries, and recognized us for outstanding achievements in the concept, direction, design and production of marcom materials and programs. Yay us!
Here are some details on our winning projects:
Publications | Annual Report | Nonprofit (Platinum)
Along with our client TransCelerate, we reimagined and developed their 2024 Annual Report, breaking out of the check-the-box style annual report that so many organizations do to instead create an energetic, easy-to-consume Story Stream. It won rave reviews from their key audiences and a Platinum Award from the AMCP.
About the Project: When TransCelerate BioPharma decided to reimagine its 2024 Annual Report, they turned to Scribewise to solve two problems: Tell the story of their work in a compelling way, and tame what had become an unwieldy beast—the annual report had grown into a leviathan that no one felt they had control over.
We set out to create an engaging, multidimensional experience that speaks to a wide-ranging audience—from journalists seeking high-level insights to pharma execs, R&D leaders, health authorities and board members looking for deeper context. We delivered the 2024 Annual Report Story Stream—an interactive microsite that immerses visitors in the year’s key milestones and achievements. For those ready to dive further, the Story Stream seamlessly guides them to the full report, offering an in-depth exploration of TransCelerate’s impact.
Web Based | Web Element | Landing Page (Gold)
Generative engine optimization (GEO)—ensuring visibility in AI search—is the hottest, most exciting and—let’s be honest—intimidating development in digital marketing this century. It’s hugely important for every digital marketer. We wanted to tell the story in an energetic, easily consumable way. Yup, it’s another Story Stream: “GEO: Get Indexed or Get Ignored.” Thanks to the truly tireless efforts of our team, we’ve established ourselves as GEO leaders and increased our own exposure in LLMs nearly 75%. Not to mention—winning a Gold Award for our work.
About the Project: For over two and a half decades, SEO ruled digital marketing. Marketers became obsessed with keywords, rankings and appeasing the almighty Google. But that era is fading. SEO, as we’ve known it, is no longer the dominant force it once was. Enter AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. These tools are fundamentally different from search engines. This is the future of “search,” and now’s the time to get optimized.
Publications | Book | Marketing (Gold)
Lastly, my book, Playing it Safe Sucks: A Manifesto for Courageous Marketing, won Gold in the Publications category.
About the Book: Playing it Safe Sucks: A Manifesto for Courageous Marketing leads marketers to step out of their comfort zones and be courageous: Courage to come up with Big Ideas. Courage to defend those Big Ideas from naysayers and skeptics. Courage to launch those Big Ideas into a cynical, attention-starved marketplace.
Playing It Safe Sucks argues that following the same old marketing strategies will not lead to success. In the book, I encourage marketers to embrace risk and take a leap of faith in their marketing efforts. Playing It Safe Sucks is a guide to breaking free from the pack to make a meaningful impact in your career, your company and your industry.
The MarCom awards are one of the oldest, largest, and most respected creative competitions in the world, and we’re both humbled and excited to be featured alongside so many outstanding peers and organizations.
